Tricol, A Dangerous Delivery on wheels, Pulp Alley AAR

Rico received the holopict & although you couldn't see anything but the outline of the sender it was a voice that he knew well, the voice of who he'd come to think of as the eccentric millionaire.

Rico didn't mind the little bit of cloak & dagger that the person hiring him liked to play as he paid well & at the end of the day that was all that mattered, plus these kind of jobs where helping to enhance his reputation in Trisol a very important thing  for a man looking to increase his standing among the underworlds elite.
The plot points
The job was simple enough, intercept a delivery & then deliver those good's to the usual place, but the icing on the cake for Rico was that the goods would becoming through the eastside of the city where there was many warehouse's & factories & as Rico had already been contracted to meet up with a talkative informant who would show him where to pick up the camouflaged explosives in that area he could kill two birds with the one stone.
The stage is set
He'd already sent Stogie from Father O Brian's flophouse ahead & he was heading there now himself to get things rolling, out side the car window he notice's the evening gloom was just starting to settle, good he thought that will help make it all the more easier.

After getting out of the car to meet up with Stogie, Rico lay's out the plan for tonight's job.

Unsuspectingly the delivery group get ready to set off not known what lays in store for them.
Rico meets up with the informant who tells him where to find the package, while the rest of the gang get's in place,

with Rizt the driver getting back into the car.

It's not long before the action starts, as Stogie open's fire on the car with the cargo.

Damn that incompetent fool I should have left him in the flophouse he's to quick on the trigger, we haven't loaded up the explosives yet.

It looks like someone has got the drop on Harker before he could get them.

Lady D spots a figure rounding the corner of a building & opens fire, this is not going as Rico had planed, pinned in place from Lady D's firing they now have a new problem,

As Rizt try's running them down,

but their just able to dodge out of the way at the last moment.
Lars who'd climbed to the roof of one of the buildings fire's a blast at the car,

Rico lends his firepower as well taking out one of the passengers.

There's fighting going on all around but Rico know's that the most important thing is the package in the car & so rush's it, hanging on through the broken window with one hand while brawling with one of the passengers with the other.

Quickly over coming him Rico now turn's his attention to the driver who not a match for Rico's fierceness & the car goes out of control before coming to a sudden stop just millimetres  from the wall of one of the buildings.

All in all a good night;s work thinks Rico now in very high spirits, yes a very good night's work indeed.

Designer's note, The game played is the first in the crime alley campaign & seen me use vehicles for the first time & I've got to say I like what they add to the game by giving you the player even more choice's to make, always a good thing in my book.
The scenario played out was dangerous delivery from the main rulebook with one side trying to get plot point's off the table & the other side trying to stop them, as the game ended with all the plot points still on the table this was a very big win for Rico's league.

Well that's all for this time, so as always my thanks for dropping in & if you'd care to leave a comment it would be welcomed.

Tricol, How did it come to this ?

Tricol has gone from a system that has lived in peace for over 200 year's to one that now stands on the brink of civil-war, it seems that governor Von Bittner's new laws have not been popular, with the Marshall's of Shin-Tethys, Fineburg & Abydo's refusing to implement the new laws &  with marshell Merock remaining in his post in defiance of the new laws, it would appear that making new laws is one think but getting them enforced is another thing all together.

High marshall  Ulberexis has remained on Thalassa & together with ex-governor Jardine now mayor of the capital city Trisol,  have come out strongly against the new laws & have ordered all law enforcer's to stand down, of coarse not all have followed the Marshall's order's with a small amount believing that the Governor is correct in his decision, but they are few & far between leaving Von Bittner no choice but to higher a militia's  force to carry out his orders, nowhere is the breakdown in law & order more in evidence then in the capital.

Laws that where drawn up to help crack down of unlawfulness has had the opposite effect, no where more so then on Thalassa with Trisol embroiled  in gangland wars as the gang leaders see the chaos in the legal system as the ideal time to expand their empire's, with running gun battle's on the capital's streets a daily occurrence.

While freedom of movement & trade is still on going within the system hostilities are growing between Thalassa & the other worlds, it is against this backdrop that Panama Jack & the crew return to Shin-Tethys with the Tech-priest in toe.

That's it for this post, as always my thanks for dropping in & if you'd care to leave a comment it would be welcomed.

Tricol, Run you fool's a Pulp Alley solo AAR

Jack we got rid of that thing whatever it was & did you find Darrow Captain ? called out Olsan as he & the rest of the crew enter the room where Jack Lucinda & Oilskin where, That's great & yes, but we've got bigger problems replies Jack never taking his eye off the abomination that Slick had become.
At first the thing seemed confused but now it's started to notice it was no alone, Elaine get out of here now the Tech-priest whispered, no Father I won't leave you now that I've only just found.
There's a flyer on the landing-pad outside & if we want to get off this island that's are best chance, now go & start searching those lockers in the other room for the power-slate.
The thing that stood before them was so terrifying to look at that some where getting very nervous, with Mr Smith giving off a low growl while backing out of the room, followed by Olsan both of who where known to have nerve's of steel.
Lucinda was the first to pull the trigger, opening up on the beast, with Darrow Oilskin & Jack adding their fire power to her's rocking the terror on it's feet.
Seen the thing rocked the fearless Felix rushed what once had been Slick, hacking at it with his chain-sword.
Brave but perhaps foolish as a massive claw knocked him from his feet sending him crashing to the floor.
With Felix out of it way it now rushed Jack who had stay in the room as everyone else apart from Felix had moved back.
Jack was giving as good as he got but he knew that the shear power of the beast would win out if he couldn't finish this quickly.

Both parties where starting to feel the effect's of their epic dual, but such was the power of the thing that their was only going to be one winner.
Jack fall's to the floor & the beasst let's out a triumphen roar, deepdown inside of him some little part that is still Slick is pleased.
Darrow who'd relised that Jack was no match for the thing rushs back to help him but is to late, enraged with anger the Tech-priest lets fly with his axa putting all of his strength into the blow.
Such is his furrie that he send the monster sprawling, it's time to gather up the wounded & get out of here while we still can he think's.
Elaine has found the power-slate, so all going well they'll be able to get to the flyer & get to hell off this cursed island.
Without further mishap they reach the flyer, where the Tech-priest plugs in the power-slate & after offering up praise to the machine- spirit start's up the engine's & they take off.
So the base is left below as our hero's set coarse, but I think they will find a very different Tricol awaiting their return.

Designer's note, those of you familiar with the PA perilous island campaign book will know that I've changed the the the last two missions, this is in not way a bad reflection's on the campaign book it just that I need a different ending to fit in with the over all Tricol story, the ending in the book is way better then mine.

Well that's it for this post I'd just like to thank Dave & Mila for the wonderful game that is Pulp Alley & as always my thank's to you for dropping in & if you'd care to leave a comment it would be welcomed.

Tricol, Finding Darrow, A solo pulp Alley AAR

Coming out on the other side of the passage our hero's find themselves in an over grown base, but what are those thing's rounding a corner ?
The base is not abandoned but there doesn't seem to be any sign of the Tect-priest.

One of them now opens fire, not very welcoming.
These are the cards that where drawn in the first turn with the one in the middle been on the leader & the other two on the mutant dogs, I'll show a lot of card's in the pictures to try to give an idea of how the game works.
A fire fight breaks out as
Mr Smith rush's forward.

These are the card's at the start of turn 2 as I let Jack's league go first, with Lucinda failing her's, Mr Smith passing his & the third out giving the activating to the other league, so it was a bit of all risk & no reward for Jack's league, it thing's like this that makes solo PA work imo, back to the action.
Mr Smith get rushed by one of the mutant dogs but neither can get the upper hand.

Then one of the mutant guards join's in & the brave dog goes down.

The Doc get's hit by a blast & also goes down, things are getting ulgy out here yell's Jack
let's try get inside, Oilskin spots out of the mutants trying to work his wy aroug the landing pad
& drop him, what are these things he thinks.
The door has some kind of locking mechanism on it
Olsian goes to work on the control-panel but some kind of discharge knock's him from his feet
After seen Felix go down as well trying Elaine give it a try, she must have inherited some of her father's skills
Jack tries to lend a hand but is only in the way
Elaine work's at it a bit longer & the door starts to open.
Oilskin gets rushed by one of the guards
WTF
It transfroums into an even more hidous creature
& makes short work of Oilskin
Quick everyone get inside calls out Jack as he runs inside, luckily this door opens automatically
Jack hurries on
& is soon joined by Elaine, Doc & Lucinda, so far there's not sign of Darrow
The creature seems confused as to where everyone has gone.
Lucinda take's point as they push on.
Jack she calls back there's another door here like the one at the entrance
With his ego bruised after his failure at the entrance door  Jack sets about getting this one open in short time.
Jack that thing has come into the building after us calls out the doc
as the door open's
At the far end of the room is the Tect-priest & Slick who has a gun pointed at him, in the name of the Emperor don't do it says Darrow as Slick draw's a cable from a data implant in his head, I've been weeks studying this place there something not right.
Shut it Darrow, I know someone how will pay a lot for the information in that computer & with the rest of those buffoons that came with me either dead or lost somewhere the reward will be all mine.
The sight of her father is to great & Elaine charges to his side blocking Jack's  shot on Slick, who plugs in the lead.
There's a blinding flash from the computer & Slick lets out a blood curling cry
 To be continued.

As anyone who does plays Pulp Alley might have noticed this game of PA was a bit different as there was no plot points, I'll explain instead of plot point's I just when with one objective for Jack league to reach Darrow, the other league was made up from (I think there called minions) from the Perilous island book, for the two doors that had to be opened I used the plot point rules.

So why do it this way you ? well those of you that come here regular will know that this campaign is only apart of a much bigger story that is Tricol & judging how the two games of solo PA that I've played have gone the solo play is going to be a huge help with telling that story.

This game has proved to me something that I always felt & that is that PA as a game is very flexible that & given the fact that your using cards & that a lot of dice rolls are 50/50 with only a very rare reroll means that as a solo game  you can not know how it will go, yes your playing yourself but there are other forces at work, this game went right to the wire with Elaine reaching the Tect-priest at the very end of turn 6 which in most cases is the last turn in PA.

That's it for this post my thanks as always for dropping in & if you'd care to leave a comment it would be welcomed.
