Tricol, Blood for the Blood God Pulp Alley AAR

A blood curling scream brought Panama Jack out of his slumber, what now he thought as another scream rang out in the early morning   light and what a cursed place this island is turning out to be with death awaiting around every corner, coming from his tent he found Lucinda & most of the crew where already outside.

That screaming sound like Elaine & seems to becoming from that direction, Jack we'll have to go to her aid she added as yet another scream was heard, your right replied Jack, quick everyone grab your weapons & leave everything else we can return for them later.

Coming out of the jungle into a clearing they noticed what could only be the native's village, & they weren't the only one's the screaming had roused, as Jack noticed the Bash Street gang to one side of him & Tuco & his band of mutants to the other side, but worse than that the native's appeared to be trying to throw poor Elaine into some kind of pit at the commands of what Jack could only think of as some kind of witchdoctor.

As Jack & Lucinda rushed forward the rest of the crew seemed to be set upon by millions of tiny insects that started to rise up from the ground, at the same time the Bash Street gang & the mutants where also heading into the village, but it wasn't long before the sound of gunshots could be heard ringing out between the various gangs.

To the back drop of all of this mayhem the natives carried on with trying to get Elaine into the pit & seemed to be getting more & more agitated with each passing minute & to add to thing the very ground itself seemed to be rumbling & shacking & now over the sound of everything else could be heard something smashing it's way through the tick jungle growth.

One more scream went up from Elaine as she tumbled into the pit & they it bust into the clearing, a beast so terrifying to behold that it turned the blood of all there cold & might well have add to the laundry total for each of the gangs that week.

Unfortunately for the Bash Street gang the mighty beast had burst out upon their side of the clearing & wasted no time setting upon them felling them quickly one after the other & seeming to not feel the bullets that was pumped into it as it did so.

With the Bash Street lads dispatched the powerful monster now turned his attention to the pit in the centre of the village where some of the mutants where trying to retrieve Elaine from the pit, releasing a bellowing roar the beast fell upon them, sending them the way of the Bash Street lads but all the while seeming to be mindful to bring no hurt to Elaine.

While the rival gangs where still fighting it out between themselves in a bid to put one & other between them & the great beast, Tuco was engaged with the native Witchdctor Shagunha who now was beside himself with rage as it was his belief that these outsider had now brought the wrath of the Great Gonga down on them.

But Tuco's trouble's where about to get a lot worse as the Great Gonga smashed down out of the mud huts to rush him, been ever fearless as Tuco was he stud toe to toe with the foul beast raining blow after blow on it with his warhammer but it was all to no a veil as so great was the thing that nothing could stand in it path for long.

The carnage of that day will forever haunt the dreams of all that witnessed it & with all of the intruders now taken care of the Great Gonga returned to the pit & lifting Elaine up with such gentleness you would not have thought possible from so a beast it departed the village making it way back into the heart of the jungle from where it had come.

As the screams of Elaine faded Lucinda turned to Jack & asked quietly will we ever escape from this hell ? putting an arm around her Jack replied the odds might be high against us but remember the higher the odds the bigger the win & you know me I like to win big he said with that smile that some how told Lucinda that everything was going to be all right.

The game been play was the Blood Sacrifice mission from the Perilous island book a campaign book that is top class as is everything about PA imho.
Well done to Paddy with Lucinda winning the day by been the only one to make it away with a plot point, my thanks to Paddy, Doc & Ralph for taking part in what was once again a hell of a game of Pulp alley, & as always my thanks to you for dropping in & if you care to leave a comment it would be welcome.

PS All of the pictures from the game can be seen be low.

GW getting me excited

Now truth be told it not often that GW get me excited these days, but they just have & whats brought on this excitement Frank you may ask ?

The release of their new boardgame Deathwatch Overkill, needlessly to say it has Deathwatch marines which in fairness is not bad, but its what there overkilling that has got me excited stealercult & the models are totally badass.

http://imgur.com/a/F4g8P

I've not bought a GW boardgame since the last release of Spacehulk as I already had all 4 assassins & didn't want or need chaos spacemarines but the cultists would have been nice plus it a boardgame which would also be good, might look into picking up the game - the models.

The next game they did the 30K BaC didn't do anything for me model wise either, but again the game would be nice to have, but the Deathwatch game is pushing all the right buttons for me, & will be a double winner in linking it up with Spacehulk, now I'm not saying tne two boards will be compatible with one another, but that would be icing on the cake if they where.

If you old enough to remember 1st ed Spacehulk they you'll know they where add on's & one of them involved stealcult, so all I need do is dig up the old rules for that game & off we go, also there could also be an infestation of Tricol as some point, not saying that there will be you never know, & on that happy thought I'll finish up as always my thanks for dropping in & if you'd care to leave a comment it would be welcome.

Tricol, The Elections & you can vote

That's right dear reader the race for the Governorship of Tricol  has began & you get to vote, consider it my way of saying thanks for calling in on my blog & I really hope you'll take part in shaping how things are going to develop in the Tricol system.

Anyway more on that later on first off lets have a look at the runners in this two horse race shall we ?
First up we have the man that currently holds the seat Governor Montague Jardine, so what will you get by voting for him ? well lets hear it from the man himself.

A vote for me will be a vote for equality for all the races of Tricol & for an open & progressive community, where we welcome all of those unfortunate enough to have been pull here by the wormhole or by any other means.

Next we have the man hoping to replace him in the seat of power Senator Marco Von Bittner & here's what he'd bring should he be elected Governor.
A vote for me will be a vote for law & odder, for a Tricol where we can all sleep safe & sound in our beds at night, A Tricol where new comers will still be welcome but who will have to first prove that they are folk worth welcoming.

So the plan for what it worth is this, you guys get to vote between now & the end of February & then their will be a Pulp Alley game in which our two candidate's will have to win votes it's as simple as that, so how do I vote Frank I hear you yell out in excitement ?

Well sadly I'm no computer wizz kid  so I can give you the easy push a button that most blog do, so sorry to say if you want to vote you'll have to do it in the comments (sorry) but all you need do is put in the name of the candidate you wish to vote for, you can add more if you wish but there is no need to in order to vote.

So on that I'll thank you all for dropping in & hope that some of you will do me the favour of casting a vote below.

Backdrops take 2

Before I go any further I just want to point out that this is an experiment & is nowhere near what I'm looking for or hoping will be the end result, but a guys got to start somewhere right ?
in this picture the distance from the table edge to the backdrop is about 2ft

For me something that can take for the images when I'm doing AAR's & the likes is the shots that take in things that are off the gaming table & while playing a game these things are unavoidable for the most part if I'm just doing set ups for taking picture's of models or doing a report where there is no game taking place, then it's is very avoidable &  is something I want to start doing.
the kitchen as a backdrop doesn't seem to work very well imo

Now I'm sure I've told you guys that I'm moving my hobby space ? & I'm hoping to be set up in about 5-6 weeks from now, well why not just wait until then to try out doing backdrops Frank you say ?
Good question & here's the answer, as you know I got a new camera for xmas so still trying to get use to that, plus the whole backdrop thing is new to me so I need to learn the best way to do it, it's not as simple as sticking a picture at the end of the table as the crap picture's is this post shows.
I've gone in  closer to the models letting the backdrop go a bit blurry

Closer still with the backdrop faded down, I think this works well enough for some shots

this is another one I'm happy enough with

the table here is only about 8" from the backdrop

while you can still see the top of the rad cover this picture is one I could live with

shots like this one is what I'm really after, I know the top of the rad cover can be seen but even that seems to bland in, the ripples are just from the way I'd stored the backdrop my plan would be to glue it flat to a board getting rid of the ripples

finding backdrops can be a pain but in the end the petshop came to my rescue, sadly they only had about 4ft of this one left but as the stuff is cheap it was worth getting even if just for practice, my thanks to Adele & the zombies for taking part

I did learn a few things from all of this however so all is not bad, but I have a long road ahead for me I think, no pain no gain as they say, anyway that's it for this time as always my thanks for dropping in & if you care to make a comment it would be most welcome, even more so if you can give me any advice on the use of backdrops.
